Wenzhou Advances High-Level Opening-Up to Build a "Global Wenzhou" in the New Era Nova Electronics Chairman Amin Lee Invited to Speak at Key Conference
Wenzhou, February 28—The mobilization and deployment conference for advancing higher-level opening-up and building a "Global Wenzhou" in the new era, alongside the promotion of the Jinhua-Lishui-Wenzhou Open Economic Corridor, was held today. The main venue was located at the Wenzhou People’s Hall, with subsidiary venues set up across counties and districts. Mr. Amin Lee, Chairman of Wenzhou Nova Electronics, was invited to attend and deliver a keynote speech at the event.
In his address, Chairman Amin Lee shared insights from Nova Electronics’ transformation journey, discussing how Wenzhou’s foreign trade enterprises can evolve from "product globalization" to "brand globalization" and shift from "traditional trade" to "new business models" amid complex global economic dynamics.
From "Product Globalization" to "Brand Globalization": Creating Value Beyond Price Competition
Chairman Li highlighted that transitioning from competing on price to creating value through branding is pivotal. Historically, Wenzhou enterprises gained global recognition as "the world’s factory" through OEM/ODM models. However, with intensifying competition and diversified consumer demands, reliance on low-cost manufacturing and labor advantages is no longer sustainable.
To address this, Nova Electronics launched its Smart Home brandMOES, adopting cross-border e-commerce and global social media marketing to engage directly with consumers worldwide. The company has strengthened brand management, safeguarded intellectual property rights, and enhanced brand value through innovation. By developing market-driven products, MOES now meets diverse consumer needs and has grown into a globally recognized name.
From "Traditional Trade" to "New Business Models": Leading, Not Just Following
Chairman Li emphasized the leap from passive order-taking to proactive leadership in the digital economy era. Leveraging emerging models such as cross-border e-commerce, social media, and livestreaming platforms, Nova Electronics has expanded beyond its traditional B2B OEM/ODM operations to embrace B2C cross-border e-commerce. The company established a brand-owned D2C (Direct-to-Consumer) platform, fostering direct interaction with global customers.
These efforts have not only earned widespread client trust but also attracted collaborations with century-old European enterprises seeking to represent the MOES brand—a testament to its international influence. Currently, MOES ranks as a top seller in niche categories on platforms like Amazon and AliExpress, integrating online and offline market strategies.
A Vision for "Global Wenzhou"
In closing, Chairman Li stated, "We stand on the pioneering soil of reform, face a digital pathway to the world, and hold the ambition to build a ‘Global Wenzhou.’ Our mission is to evolve from ‘order receivers’ to ‘value creators,’ transitioning from ‘Made in Wenzhou’ to ‘Created in Wenzhou,’ and contribute to Wenzhou’s global rise." He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the municipal government for its unwavering support, enabling Wenzhou enterprises to shine confidently on the world stage and showcase the power of Wenzhou brands.
The conference underscored Wenzhou’s commitment to innovation-driven opening-up, positioning the city as a beacon of China’s global economic integration in the new era.
